In 2005 CBN visited the now famous community broadband project in Nuenen in The Netherlands. Their Ons Net (our net) is a cooperatively owned fibre-optic network linking the almost 8,000 premises of Nuenen together.

The impact of this visit was obvious, and CBN has since signed a partnership agreement with Close the Gap, the Dutch organisation behind the Ons Net model. Much of their thinking has been incorporated into CBN methodology, allowing us to help commuities in the UK and abroad to benefit form their own fibre-based Our Net.
