Iain BennettIain is an associate of Community Broadband Network with over 25 years’ experience of digital strategy development and project/programme management in both private and public sectors. He is a recognised authority on developing innovative public sector interventions in digital connectivity. He was a member of the previous Mayor of London’s Connectivity Group (2015-16), whose work led to the issue of the standard wayleave agreement by City of London and the appointment of WiredScore to manage a Connectivity Rating scheme for commercial properties. Iain is a member of the CBN team developing the Livepoool City Region Combined Authority’s Digital Infrastructure Action Plan.

Iain was Project Director of Superconnected Cities Programme for Broadband Delivery UK (2012-14) – project manager and board member for eight cities (Manchester, Salford, Birmingham, Brighton & Hove, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh and London). At BDUK, Iain was part of the team that conceived the idea of the connection voucher as a means to transfer de minimis aid to SMEs. The resulting mix of vouchers for FTTP, fixed wireless and pre-approved FTTC services were taken up by 55,000+ businesses.
